Hi, my name is Martia and welcome to my page! I am wife and mother of two beautiful children based in East Preston, NS. I always had a passion for crafts, crocheting, and homemade items. This passion grew even more while I was recovering from a life changing event. 

September 2021, seven months after giving birth to my son, I became extremely ill. I was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with heart failure with a heart function of just 5%. Within hours of admission, I was rushed to the operation room for emergency bypass surgery where I remained on life support until I received my heart transplant. just two days after my 30th birthday I received the gift of life. I awoke one week later to the news that I received a new heart. I will always be grateful for my donor and appreciate every minute of life with my family and friends.

with the such a sudden and unexpected chain of events I never let stop me. I learned how to walk again and returned home one month after first arrive to the hospital. Further diagnosis confirmed that I had Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM).

My goal is to spread awareness of PPCM and organ donation by encouraging women to listen to their hearts and speak up for their health. A portion from each hat will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Please look at my selection and support a worthy cause!
